The Department of Personnel Management, Labor Economics and Economic Theory of Poltava University of Economics and Trade was established (as the Department of Personnel Management and Labor Economics) on July 10, 2006. In 2018, as a result of the merger of the Department of Economic Theory and Applied Economics, it received its current name.

The Department of Personnel Management, Labor Economics and Economic Theory provides professional training in the following areas:

  • educational and professional program “Human Resource Management and Labor Economics”, specialty 051 Economics, bachelor’s and master’s degrees;
  • educational and professional program “Human Resources Management”, specialty 073 Management, bachelor’s degree;
  • Educational and professional program “Local Self-Government”, specialty 281 Public Administration and Management, Master’s degree.

These areas of training are adapted to the international educational programs of almost every economic university in the world. The most famous are: Harvard University (USA), Oxford University, University of Cambridge (UK), The University of Winnipeg (Canada), University of Economics in Wroclaw (Poland).

Since its inception, the department has been headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Tetiana Kostyshyna.

Today, the department has a close-knit and creative team that is not indifferent to the problems of human resources management and labor economics, which knows the history of its department and continues to form and develop its traditions.

The department has a close-knit and creative team of professionals in the fields of human resources management, leadership, labor economics and social and labor relations, personnel administration, recruiting, remuneration, staff motivation, quality of working life, labor psychology, conflict management, team management, etc.

In the educational process, the academic staff of the department uses interactive educational technologies, distance learning is provided through the electronic platform “Moodle”.

The students of the department have wide international opportunities (for more details, see the “Students” tab).

Students are responsible and actively participate in the preparation and holding of conferences, competitions and Olympiads, including: All-Ukrainian Olympiad in the specialty “Human Resource Management and Labor Economics”; All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the specialty “Marketing, Human Resource Management and Labor Economics”; Pinchuk Scholarship Program “Zavtra. UA scholarship program and other events. Creativity, high professional training, and knowledge of foreign languages allow the department’s graduates to be competitive in the domestic and global labor markets.
