Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and PUET are united

The staff of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University expresses its sincere gratitude to Oleksii Nestulya, the Rector of Poltava University of Economics and Trade, for his support and the opportunity to host the university administration under martial law in Poltava, since February 24, 2022.

On March 29, 2022, at 10:30 AM, the university administration of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University met up with the Rector of Poltava University of Economics and Trade, Professor Oleksii Nestulya. During the conversation, the Rector Olena Karaman, on behalf of the staff of our higher education institution, thanked Poltava colleagues for the shelter, for the possibility to place the university administration and provide temporary housing for faculty, staff and students of the university. Also the further cooperation between the two educational institutions was discussed.

It should be noted that PUET under the leadership of Oleksii Nestulya saves LNU for the second time. The first time was in 2015 and was caused by the Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine in 2014. And now, during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the university found itself in a zone of infernal fighting and temporary occupation of Luhansk region again.

Since 2015, on the basis of Poltava University of Economics and Trade, two structural subdivisions of LNU have been successfully carrying out educational activities – the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Institute of Culture and Arts. From now on, PUET became the base of activity management center for Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University together with all its institutions.
