Poltava University of Economics and Trade participates in the EU Networks Forum and Euroschool in Kiev
On October 3-4, 2019, the EU-Euroschool Network Forum was held in Kyiv, bringing together representatives and participants of European projects in Ukraine. Poltava University of Economics and Trade have joined the Forum as the organizer of the EU Career Day in Poltava in 2019, which is one of the top five this year.
Well-known politicians and experts on European integration were the speakers of the Forum, inaugurated by the Ambassador, the Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine, Matti Maasikas. He emphasized the importance of European integration processes and projects in Ukraine and encouraged participation in opportunities from the European Union.
In addition to Ambassador Matti Maasikas, the speakers of the first day of the Forum were the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Anna Novosad and the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema.
“We have very ambitious plans to shape our education policy. We want to be more involved in the EU. Our goal is to reform education in Ukraine so that the student can get the most and be highly competitive in the labor market. We need to be on par with the European Universities, ”Anna Novosad said during a panel discussion“ Ukraine – the EU in the Age of Change ”.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema said: “We are increasing the level of mobility. It should be possible for young people to see the countries of the European Union in order to take a more critical view of their vision and implementation in Ukraine or beyond. ”
During the panel discussion “European Integration through the Prism of Professional Activity” the following speeches were made by:
Yulia Fedov, Executive Director at the Ukrainian Cultural Fund, Head of Creative Europe, who spoke about the opportunities to participate in the programs;
Denis Tkachov, Team Europe Kharkiv expert, who spoke about the effectiveness of using Internet technologies and social media for successful project implementation;
Vitaliya Belobrova, expert of Team Europe Kherson, Chairman of the Board of the Business Association “We are Kherson”, who presented successful examples of merging local companies in order to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods in the European market;
Sergiy Khvostov, Head of the EU Summit Information Center, organizer of the EU Career Day in Sumy, who noted the opportunities for youth professional development;
Lesia Yaroshenko, Information Manager of the Social Business in UA Business Development Project, spoke about the successful stories of social entrepreneurship development in Ukraine with the support of the EU.
All speakers talked about the priorities of the project activity and the European perspective. These are mobility projects for the participants of the educational process, projects for the development of entrepreneurship (including social), entrepreneurial education, creative economy. It should be noted that the Poltava University of Economics and Trade does not stand aside from the European integration processes in education and is the implementer of several projects supported by European funds. All speakers spoke about the priorities of the project activity and the European perspective. During the two days of the Forum, network members were introduced to the latest EU innovations and policies in relations with Ukraine, shared experience in planning joint activities and development strategies for each network, and learned about participation in mobility programs and projects of the European Union. Opportunities for cooperation between EU networks and the EU Delegation were presented by Victoria Davydova, Press and Information Advisor of EU Delegation in Ukraine. During the Forum, an official presentation of the House of Europe project by project manager Christian Dimer and project grants manager Yuri Kirushko took place.
