Representatives of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine visited the Poltava University of Economics and Trade

On June 18, 2019, representatives of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine Ivanna Atamanchuk and Veronika Tkachenko visited the Poltava University of Economics and Trade with the monitoring mission. As part of the monitoring of the Erasmus + AESOP project “Realization of student rights protection by implementation student ombudsman”, a meeting with the rector of the university O.O.Nestuleya was held at PUT, where the results of the project were presented by the International Consortium and the Poltava University of Economics and Trade as a project partner. There were also interviews with project implementers, teachers and administrative lawyers who are not project participants, meetings with students and the student ombudsman.

During the work quantitative and qualitative indicators of project realization were presented:

-main results of the project implementation;

-project quality assurance measures;

-adherence to the conditions of visualization and maintenance of web-pages of the project;

-financial documentation, equipment purchased for the purpose of project implementation and use of funds;

-results of dissemination of the project (participation in conferences, seminars, other public events, publications on the results of the project, print and video materials);

-conducting of trainings, public lectures and their content;

-involvement of the participants in the educational process in the project;

-the impact of the project on the individual and professional levels for participants in the educational process of PUET;

-the impact of the project on the institutional level and changes in the organizational behavior of the university.

 Should be noted that the project was implemented in accordance with the University’s Development Strategy for 2017-2022 and implements the main objectives of the Strategy, namely: integration into the international educational and scientific space: the participation of the university in the EU Erasmus + program and the development of an open partnership with foreign institutions higher education.

-the impact of the project on the field of higher education at the local, regional and national levels. The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 6, 2018, No. 491 “Some Issues of the Educational Ombudsman” establishes the introduction of the post of Educational Ombudsman in Ukraine from 2019. Therefore, the implementation of the ombudsman’s position at the university meets the requirements for the development of higher education in Ukraine;

-changes that occurred during the project implementation period. During the project implementation, there were changes in the organizational structure of the university: the office of the student ombudsman of PUET was created, new regulations were prepared – the Law on the office of the student ombudsman. There have been changes in the “Social Protection of Students” process. Important is the organic implementation of the student ombudsman in the college’s advisory and collegial bodies;

-partnership and cooperation. During the project implementation spin-off effects of the project took place at the university. Thus, within the framework of the Erasmus Program + 2018 in the direction of Jean Monnet Module, the European Experience in Humanization and Personality Development has been developed for the contest.In the framework of the Erasmus + 2019 program competition, the project proposals “International Intercultural Intensive Training Camp for University Students and Employees” (jointly with the Akaki Tsereteli State University) were developed and submitted in the direction of KA2; “Improving the model of organization of student internship and job search in the Eastern Partnership countries” (together with Khazar University, Nakhchevan State University, Ganja State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University);

-ensuring sustainability of the project results: the level of strategic support of the university leadership has been demonstrated.

In general, the student’s ombudsman’s office has had a qualitative impact on the University’s educational environment:

-Effective communication of all participants in the educational process is established;

-increased responsiveness to problem and conflict situations between them;

-worked out and distributed to general use algorithms of response and prevention of destructive manifestations in the educational environment.

After completion, the monitoring participants discussed the results. Representatives of the National Erasmus + Office briefed the project implementers on preliminary findings and recommendations.
