Representatives of the Valle Elda Public Integrated Vocational Training Center (Kingdom of Spain) visited PUET as part of the international exchange program

Poltava University of Economics and Trade within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + program actively cooperates with European universities to organize mutual exchange of students, teachers and administrative staff. Today, in terms of the number of international credit mobility projects, Erasmus + PUET is among the TOP-20 universities in Ukraine and is a leader in the Poltava region.

During the last week of July 2021, a delegation of representatives of the Valle Elda Public Integrated Vocational Training Center (Kingdom of Spain) visited the University, consisting of the director of the Cristobal Center Melgareio Romero, Maria Jesus Garcia Soto, Eurasmus + Vice-Director and Coordinator Judith Santoni Cerdi, Lecturer in Trade and Marketing Department.

The busy schedule included meetings with the first vice-rector of the University Natalia Pedchenko, director of the International Research and Education Center Yulia Pereguda, director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Business and Modern Technologies Alina Tkachenko, director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Projects and Innovations Inna Pakhomrova, associate professors Igor Yurko and Mykola Balaban, as well as the head of the Department of Management Lyudmila Shimanovska-Dianych, during which they discussed the development of practice-oriented learning, organization of the educational process in quarantine activities and the possibility of developing future joint grant projects, online lectures for both PUET students and the Valle Elda Public Integrated Vocational Training Center. During the visit to one of the bases of internships for students of PUET – restaurant “Krynytsia” – they discussed the work of the restaurant business in a pandemic in Ukraine and Spain, the features of the internship program for students majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Business. A tour of the University did not leave colleagues indifferent, during which its powerful material and technical base was presented: a library, an electronic reading room, a media library, cultural and educational centers, etc.

For the purpose of additional translation practice, the delegation was accompanied by 6th year students of Philology Nikitina Anastasia and Sizonova Maria. Spanish colleagues were happy to communicate with Ukrainian students.

The guests were acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of the Poltava region. A rich excursion program was organized:

July 27 – a walk through the sights of Poltava. The guide of the walking tour is the head of the department of pedagogy and social sciences Iryna Petrenko.

July 28 – visit to the famous center of Ukrainian embroidery and weaving in Reshetylivka, namely the All-Ukrainian center of embroidery and carpet weaving. Spanish colleagues were especially impressed by the technology of white-on-white embroidery and the traditions of plant carpet weaving in Reshetylivka, included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and nominated for UNESCO World Heritage Status.

July 29 – visit to the National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne. Distinguished guests saw a real oven in which they burned pottery, and also had the opportunity under the guidance of folk artists to paint with clay, to make their own clay mini plates. They were lucky enough to taste traditional dishes of Ukrainian cuisine in the ethno-settlement “Old Farm”.

The visit of representatives of the Valle Elda Public Integrated Vocational Training Center to PUET allowed to get acquainted with the national peculiarities, traditions of Ukraine and the country in general, which is the right way for understanding, respect between peoples and openness of human hearts that breaks any borders.
