The student of PUET became the finalist of the competition of translators
On February 22, 2020, 4 year student of Philology specialty Vlasenko Elizabeth became a finalist of the All-Ukrainian Competition « Lviv European» from the «Linguistic Center» translation company. Philology students from different parts of Ukraine took part in the competition. The selection phase, which was to translate the proposed text into the chosen language and send to the organizers, began in January 2020. The jury of the All-Ukrainian Translator Competition selected 150 winners from 1326 applications. The final stage took place at the modern Resource and Information Center named after Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky of Ukrainian Catholic University. Future translators from all over Ukraine came to the final of the competition, many of whom are not the first to try their own translation skills. The tasks were duplicated in several languages: English, German, Polish, French, Czech and Spanish. Vlasenko Elizabeth – one of three participants who has passed simultaneously to the final of two languages (Polish and English) in competitive selection. In Lviv, she competed for the best feature-adapted English translation. Speakers – Irina Tulovskaya, Head of Postmodern Localization Department, who deals with dubbing films in Ukrainian,; Tatyana Cherednychok, SBT Localization Team specialist at the Shlakbifraf Local Union; Roman Derega, public speaking expert welcomed the participants of the All-Ukrainian Translation Competition.
