TOUR AROUND POLTAVA

It has become a tradition in Poltava University of Economics and Trade (PUET) to organize study trips for foreign students studying at the university.
On November 7 2017 foreign students in their first year of study and taking the foundation course from Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Pakistan, Guinea, Palestine, Gambia, Turkey, Jordan, Tunisia, and Morocco who have become the students of PUET this autumn could learn a lot of interesting facts about history, culture, customs and traditions of Poltava. They saw around the Memorial Estate of Ivan Kotlyarevsky, the city historical center and its cultural attractions; visited the Poltava Museum of Local Lore leaving their warm impressions in the Museum Book of Reviews.
The excursion in English for foreign students was conducted by the university first-year students majoring in Tourism (group T-11). For Ukrainian students it was a good experience to apply their knowledge and English language skills in practice, because each of them has to be a good tour guide. Foreign students learned about historical events taken place in Poltava, prominent people who contributed to the development of historical and cultural heritage of the Poltava region, listened to the Ukrainian poetry of Taras Shevchenko, and gained a familiarity with interesting places of the city. Both Ukrainian and foreign students were happy to communicate with each other, as they enriched their knowledge about customs and traditions of different countries, had fun and got a lot of positive emotions.
