PUET law students took part in the “History of Global Development of Human Rights” webinar

On March 29, 2021, the “History of Global Development of Human Rights” webinar took place. The webinar was conducted by the Human Rights Vector NGO (Ukraine) in partnership with the World of Tolerance NGO (Georgia) and the Space of Free Initiatives NGO (Ukraine) in the framework of the “In Search for Human Rights” project with support from Human Rights House Foundation and funded by the European Union.

The webinar opened a series of online-events dedicated to the history and modern state of affairs of human rights movement and equality in the world in general and in Georgia and Ukraine specifically.

The event was moderated by Nazarii Boiarskyi, a board member of the Human Rights Vector, a member of the trainers pool of the Youth Department of Council of Europe, an independent expert of the Eastern European Network for Citizenship Education.

Sasha Delemenchuk, the development advisor at the Center for Participation and Development, trainer, advocacy and security expert, a board member of the Human Rights Vector, was the speaker of the webinar. She told the audience about the phenomenon of human rights, its meaning and the evolution of human rights.

During the webinar theoretical and practical aspects of the international human rights protection system were discussed, including history of the system, and its modern crisis, as well as ways to overcome it.

About 90 representatives of non-governmental organizations and initiatives, staff of museums and other institutions of culture, historians, lawyers, teachers and students from Ukraine and Georgia participated in the webinar. Poltava University of Economics and Trade third- and fourth-year law students took part in the event as well. All the participants received electronic certificates about participation in the webinar.
